Vintage Carved Glass Cabochons
Vintage 'Carved' Glass components are not actually 'carved' at all. In most cases, they are pressed in molds. Back in the early part of the 20th century, the glass & the molds were highly detailed & floral or figural motifs encompassed the finest lines & elements. Every once in a while we come across some of these highly detailed, molded pieces of glass. Those featured here are flat backed & do not have holes in the traditional sense. Fix them to filigree or metal pieces using E-6000.
Vintage Metal Charms This selection of metal charms includes finds that were originally manufactured in the US from the 1960's- the early 1980's. Sometimes we find them with great old, aged or patina'ed finishes. Other times, we send them to a plater in the US to have them put on a matte sterling or matte 24k gold finish. These deco motifs are some popular charms, great for hanging off of earrings, bracelets or clustering on layers of chain.
Vintage Lucite Washer Beads These are an often overlooked, but very functional jewelry component. Some of our most popular lines include Lucite flowers and vintage metal flowers that have a center hole. These 'washer' shaped beads are the perfect compliment for finishing off a stacked floral design. They fit nicely in the center of most of these components and add a signature splash of color. These were originally manufactured in the early 1960's in a US plastics manufacturing plant. Some colors are original and some we have custom dyed in house.
Vintage Givre' Glass "Givre" (pronounced 'jee-vray') is a term used to describe a bead that has an interior, almost injected-looking color, encased in a layer of crystal or clear glass. It was a very popular technique used in West German in the 1940's and 1950's, so much of our collection of this type of glass comes from that era. While givre' finishes & styles are produced today in Czechoslovakia, the allure isn't quite the same as the vintage stock. It's taken on a whole new look in contemporary styles.
